Cedar Point
Forbidden Frontier The Newest Cedar Point Attraction of 2019
After missing the opener on Memorial Weekend, I finally got the opportunity to check out the newest Cedar Point attraction Forbidden Frontier. Some people believe this new attraction is the beginning of the future for the park and a shift from what we all know of Cedar Point.
After visiting this attraction, I can now see how this is or let me say I think it may be a first step into a new bright future for Cedar Point. I really do believe this is an attempt in moving toward becoming a park that is a family resort and not just a place with tall and fast roller coasters.
Although I think I went through the entire new park addition , I still believe that I did miss a lot of stuff and a ton of new characters that I have heard about in the press and from other theme park enthusiasts.
It is rumored that there are characters located through out the attraction that are both interactive and entertaining. I think I saw a couple, but they were already immersed into a story with some guests. I was pretty sure we missed most of them since we finally got there late in the day and only had an hour before the area was to close for the night.
One of the new Ride attractions is right at the front gate. You will find a two towering towers and possibly people flying in the air. It’s electrifying and only for those who are bravest of the brave. The attraction is called Professors Delbert’s Frontier Fling.
Unfortunately the ride is not included in your pass, so you will have to fork over a $10 per rider to give yourself a heart-attack. I don’t remember seeing this from last year, so I expect that it is new, but I could of missed it as well. But from what I saw, the people who rode it loved it, but that kind of thing is surely not for me.
Many New Attractions With In The Attraction…
Forbidden Frontier is not just a singular attraction. The new “area” has many new features and attractions within the park addition. The further you get into the Frontier, the further you begin to fall in love with it. The area is made up of several new attractions that your family may enjoy including the monster addition in the middle of the area that I am pretty positive your kids will absolutely love it. Read further down to learn more about this amazing beast.
As you move into the new addition you will find yourself in the Snake River Swamp. You can pull your group or family across the swap by jumping onto a four person raft and utilizing the rope to pull your group across the swamp.
One of the best features that I personally loved was the makeshift boggy bridge that moved in the water as you walked on it. Just for the record, there is a handicap way around the bridge with signs plainly in view to point you in the right direction.
So as you continue past the swamp you will come by a few interesting scenery items including a perfect photo opportunity with the The jail and outpost.
You and Your Kids Will Love the center of Forbidden Frontier…
The most beautiful part for me and one of the most exciting areas if you are a kid was the Highground. This was a MASSIVE play area that featured an impressive climbing structure.
Your kids can walk across suspended rope bridges, net tunnels, towering platforms, and much more. This will suck some time out of your day as the kids will love it. The bonus is there is chairs and seating all around the area for you to relax your soar feet.
You will also find food and bathrooms right next to your attraction. Don’t let the kids get too tired, as there is more of the trail and the area to see…
What did I Think Of Forbidden Frontier…
I loved it. I think this is fantastic for Cedar Point and is a smart move. Not everyone will ride roller coasters, so for those that cannot or do not ride them, they are also looking to be entertained. This is a great step toward making this park a perfect choice for the entire family and a place you just want to stay at over and over again.
I have yet to experience the area when the characters are in action, so that will be something I plan to see at some point this summer, but even so, this is a must see for park goers.
