Will I Fit On Disney Epcot Rides?

Published

on

I am not going to lie, but my experience with Disney World up to this point was not been great. The main reason is that we visited the park for the first time during spring break, which is something I will never do again. This issue of why it has not been a pleasant experience was of course has been mainly the people and the number of people who have been at the parks during our visits in March.

Our first visit to Epcot was disastrous due to being overcrowded. Magic Kingdom was the worst of them all, Hollywood Studios the same, and of course, Animal Kingdom was just as packed.

Thankfully, this last visit to Epcot was a lot more enjoyable. And it has helped my view toward Disney change a little bit. I need a little more warming up to feel a bit better about the parks in general, but for now, it’s getting better.

Our return visit later in the year absolutely blew us away. It was hot, when is it not, but the crowds level were manageable, making for a more enjoyable time at Disney World.

One thing I am getting pretty comfortable with is that so far for the most part Disney does accommodate plus-size people on most rides and attractions. I am actually finding a harder time finding rides that I cannot fit in. And that my friends, is a magical feeling.

Something else I noticed is that they accommodate those in wheelchairs, HCV scooters, and anyone with disabilities pretty easily. The cast members do everything they can to make your day enjoyable.

The last time we visited Epcot was during the morning, which just seemed really hectic. People were ornery, they were pushy and so inconsiderate that it just lit the fires on your emotional state. I do plan on covering this at some point in the future so keep an eye on that, but for now, let’s get back to what this article is really about the rides.

This time we visited during the evening and it help us achieve what I really wanted to do, which was to gauge the rides on if there would be any difficulty for plus-size people to ride them.

I got to say we did a good job on this night and covered mostly all of them with a few exceptions. We still have yet to hit Spaceship Earth and Mission Space, (which I’m not sure I will try based on reviews of some park-goers) Motion sickness will kick my butt and that one seems like a no go for me.

We were lucky to grab a few fast passes for this one and hit a few major rides, so it really made the day great.

My Results, Did I fit On Disney Epcot Rides?

Frozen Ever After Boat

Frozen Ever After – Now this one was one of my favorite rides of the day, I just wish it was longer. But There were no issues with this one. There are no restraints and you just step into a boat. As long as you can step down you are fine. There should be no issues with anyone riding this ride.

It is a very enjoyable ride that has fantastic scenery in the ride queue and on the ride. As a far warning, there is a small drop, but it’s not very big, and no one should have an issue with it.

Living With The Land Boat

Living With The Land – Another one of my favorites. No Issues here, just a simple boat ride with no restraints. Easy on and easy off. I see no issues for anyone here.

Journey Into Imagination With Figment – NO Issues – Got in the cart with ease and was not an issue. The bench is long enough that I sat with my Family.

The Seas With Nemo & Friends – No Issues. The carts move as you get in so you will have to be able to get in the carts. I have seen them stop the ride to accommodate transfers, but the bar comes down with no issues.

Soarin’ – I was a little worried about this one. I should not have been. It was easy to get on and the seat belt had plenty to give even with me on it. Easy on and off. NO Issues.

Space Ship Earth – No issues with this one. No restraints it is a slow-moving ride and easy to get in and out of.

Test Track – Another one I was worried about. But Didn’t have an issue with getting in. The seat belt came down and I had plenty of Room. The only thing that was an issue, was the ride does beat you up a little and you must push yourself up, but still no issue.

Inside Test Track Que

That is all that we rode. There are a few other shows and tours we did not experience. But one thing was for sure if you have a wheelchair or an HCV, you will have no issues getting through these.

Look for more theme park ride reviews in the future.
