How Busy Is Cedar Point and When Is the Best Days Of The Week to Visit?
Just like most theme parks, busy times will vary and there are days that the park will get extremely busy. This can be frustrating for some, well, it’s frustrating for everyone.
The food lines are bigger, the ride lines are bigger, heck even the bathroom lines can get ridiculous. It can turn a fun day into a very frustrating one.
So how busy is Cedar Point and when is the best times to go to the park? For most “BIG” theme parks like Disney, Universal, the day may matter a little, but sometimes depending on the time of year, the crowds are humongous.
The traffic flows a little different at Cedar Point from our experience. Some days of the week it can be incredibly packed while others, you can nearly walk on and off every single ride. Both the day of the week and the weather grossly effect the overall volume of park visitors.
I have actually had a day where a friend and I got there when the park opened and rode EVERY coaster twice and we were tired out by 4:30 pm in the afternoon and decided to call it a day.
I have also had days were we could probably ride 1 – 3 roller coasters due to 1 hour plus wait times on rides. Those tend to be the days I hate when going to the park, they can make the experience less exciting. Lucky for us we go a lot, so we can adjust our daily schedule a bit and concentrate on the less popular attractions when those days are too busy.
So when is the best time to visit Cedar Point?
Our suggestion is not official, so it’s not based on statistics. But we’ve been to the park enough to get a feel of the flow. Now sometimes these can be different and all the days of the week can be extremely busy, specially around traditional spring and summer holidays like Memorial Weekend, the 4th of July, and Labor Day weekend.
Our BEST DAY to visit the park is: Wednesday…
The middle of the week seems to be the best time to visit the park and the traffic is generally low. Especially in the morning and midday. Now the it’s not uncommon on a great day that the locals start coming in after 5pm, but for the most park the crowd level stays pretty low from our experience. This is the exact day of the week we did that we were done at 4:30 pm and worn out because we were on and off rides so much.
The WORST DAY to visit the park is: Saturdays...
Obviously this is pretty much common sense. Unfortunately this is when a lot of people go the park. You have the season pass holders and the weekend warriors from out of town that come in for a weekend at the park.
Friday Nights and Sundays are also extremely busy. So if you are planning trip I would try to shoot for Tuesday or Wednesday or if you can afford it Stay all week, you will be almost guaranteed to catch a slow day or two during the week.
