City Walk Is Universals Little Gem For Before, During, & After You Visit the Parks
When you visit Universal Studios and Universals Island Of Adventure the first thing you see when you come out of the parking complex is an area that Universal Calls City Walk.
City Walk is Universal’s version of Disney Springs and offers visitors a variety of restaurants, bars, clubs, movie theater, put put golf, shopping venues, and at times some entertainment by the lake.
The area is the connecting piece to two of Universal Parks Universal Studios and Islands Of Adventure. You will pass through City walk when you go to the park or switch parks during the day, and aside from those that use the Hogwarts Express Train.
Although there are some things open when the parks open in the morning, for the most part City Walks hours are 11:00 AM – 2:00 AM. The center offers a variety of restaurants and is the place we usually take a break from the parks and grab something to eat. There are way more options and to be frank, the actual food is a huge step above the normal bland theme park food.
There are many options for when it comes to food. There are some high end restaurants and some fast food types like Burger King and MOE’s. So far some of our favorites that we have tried are Bread Box, which is affordable place to get some delicious sandwiches and NBC Grille, which turns out to be my current favorite.
You will find a lot of park guests working their way in the parks toward City Walk heavily during lunch and dinner hours. As I mentioned above, the food options are numerous, there are so many options and way better food than you can get in the parks themselves.
City Walk Offers Great Nighttime Entertainment…
One of the great features from the shopping and restaurants in City Walk is the entertainment options. You will find a Hard Rock Cafe which offers concerts from time to time, plenty of bars and clubs, some of which require a dress code to get in, and a Movie theater.
Upon your first visit to the park you will find the area to be a hopping place. People dressed up, having fun, and enjoying their favorite drinks. It’s a pretty cool area to be during the night if you love the nightlife scene.
On some nights they will have a DJ down by the water and is a great place to wind down after a long day at the parks. This is a pretty sweet time as you’ll find even the long day in the heat isn’t enough to keep people from dancing their hearts out at the end of the night. Someday I will find the special potion to have that much energy, but right now, watching is about all the energy I have after a day in the parks.
Is City Walk Family Friendly?
Absolutely. You have entertainment, eating, and shopping options for all ages. You’ll even find a nice little splash pad in the center for the little ones to cool off in the heat. Obviously the clubs are out of the question for those younger ones, but everything else is family friendly.
