Cedar Point’s Wagon Wheel Pizza, Wings & Breadsticks Food Review

Sure Theme Park’s are filled with exciting attractions, rides, and entertaining shows, but one thing is just as much as important to a theme park than anything and it’s the parks food.

From time to time we will do food reviews from various parks we visit and today is our first featured article in this category. Well technically second article in the category, but it is our first official review.

In the future we plan on incorporating some video to capture the initial reactions and thoughts, but for now, please enjoy the written version.

Today’s featured items include a slice of Pizza, and order of breadsticks, and a order of barbecue wings from Cedar Points Wagon Wheel Pizza concession stand that is located in back of the park near Frontier town & the Town Hall Museum.

We will Start With The Pizza…

Not going to lie, Pizza generally is my crutch. I love pizza, and when it comes to Pizza we all know that no one pizza is the same. So from my theme park experience, I’ve had really bad luck when it comes to theme park pizza, so my initial expectations were a little on the down side.

This stems from a previous experience I had with another Cedar Fair Park, which at some point I’ll revisit.

With that aside, I think the low expectations actually helped on this review. In the words of Barstool Sports President and Pizza Reviewer Dave Portnoy, “One Bit everyone knows the rules..”

We took our bite. I’m not going to lie, I was a little bit surprised, the pizza wasn’t bad, especially for a theme park pizza. A little doey, but the sauce, wasn’t the putrid crap that I have had on other pizza slices in the parks.

I was a little surprised at the taste. Now was it the greatest pizza on the planet, no, not even close, was it a good bar pizza, nope, not even close, but in comparison to a theme park pizza the flavor and the taste was decent.

It also helped that we got a fresh slice that seemed to be right out of the oven. I’m sure my taste buds would of went nuts if it were a slice that was sitting under those god awful lamps for hours.

Overall On A Scale 1-10 The pizza gets a Big Theme Parks Grade of 4.8.

Not great pizza, but not bad either. Hits the spot when you are enjoying crazy day at the park. The slices are decent size as well, pretty much two slices in size. For a theme park pizza a 4.8 grade isn’t that bad.

On to the Breadsticks…

Now on to the breadsticks, oh the breadsticks. I really would seriously like to forget those. To be honest, one bite and they ended up in the dumpster. The worse thing happened here, they were not warm and were very cold. I’m not sure how long they were sitting there or if this is normal for these, but the breadsticks were awful, probably some of the worst we have had.

To be fair, we may have just gotten a batch that was sitting there for awhile, even so, Cedar Point needs to revisit that process. No customer should ever get cold breadsticks. Once they become cold, they are done.

Our official Big Theme Parks grade for the breadsticks 0..

Yes, that bad, once they get cold, they are horrible, not even worth a score. The texture, the taste, everything was not good. We may give this another chance the next time we visit, but our experience with the breadsticks, suggest, that you should avoid if possible and save yourself some money here.

Oh Barbecue Wings, How Good Are Thou?

Unfortunately I foolishly did not get a picture of the wings. Don’t know what I was thinking there. But we ordered BBQ wings from this place at the same time we ordered the sticks and Pizza.

The wait time for the wings was a little bit longer than it was for the Pizza and breadsticks. When they arrived, they were deliciously covered in BBQ sauce and frankly looked delicious.

After pretty much throwing up the bread sticks, I gave the wings a shot, Oh my not bad. They were hot, fully cooked, and the sauce had a nice tang to it.

Where they buffalo wild wings worthy, no they were not, but they were not bad. The quality of meat was fine and the sauce was decent for theme park wings.

Our Wing Big Theme Park score is 5.5..

The wings to me resembled the same type of wings you would get from Domino’s, Little Ceasers, Hungry Howies, and other chain Pizza joints that are spread across the United States.

They were good, there were no complaints, but the quality fit perfecting with a chain pizza joint, nothing special. It did the job, filled the belly and tasted decent.

They did offer more options like Buffalo and other sauces we just when went with the Honey.
